Teacher/Director
Nominated Supervisor
Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood
(Currently on leave)
I have worked with children aged 3-5 and their families since 1985 in a variety of Early Childhood settings, predominantly in community managed education and care services. I became a part of the passionate, professional and long serving team at CPCK in January 2011.
I am committed to and privileged by the opportunity to assist children to realise their talents, abilities and potential. Children are my teacher as well as I am theirs and I am inspired and amazed at how children think, learn and develop. Children are the grassroots of society and so they, in effect, form the important foundations necessary for a healthy, positive and caring future society.
There are 3 areas in my role as Teacher/Director that inspire me most:
* the opportunity to intentionally assist children to feel confident, important, accepted and empowered
* the opportunity to forge partnerships with parents to allow for genuine, reciprocal support where the culture and community spirit of the Preschool is created and maintained
* my association with CPCK’s teachers and educators where leadership, respect and honesty are held in high esteem which allows for an innovative, inclusive and creative preschool curriculum
I am proud to be a part of a community managed early education and care service where a deep sense of ownership and a sense of belonging is obvious among families, children, educators and the wider community.
