I am very excited to be part of the Collaroy Plateau Kindergarten community. I initially worked in a Maternity Leave relief position from mid 2014 and was fortunate to secure a permanent position in mid 2016.
I completed my degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth – 12 years) at Macquarie University. During the course of my studies, I experienced working in both early childhood settings and primary schools, here on the Northern Beaches and in the Inner West.
My own 2 children inspire and challenge my thinking and continue to surprise me in different ways. I love where we live and the lifestyle it offers. Reading and seeking out good children’s books is a hobby of mine, as well as visiting markets and relaxing with a good coffee!
I am an advocate for children and believe all children have the right to an education. I share a disposition for learning alongside your child, equitable partners in finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. I strongly believe that communication is a two way system and plays a vital role in building strong relationships between teachers, children and families. This is intrinsic to developing confidence in children and empowers them to be active in establishing their own identities and understandings of the world. I am committed to ensuring my teaching is differentiated and holistic in nature to promote and enhance every child’s potential to become who they want to be. I hope to achieve this by working collaboratively with colleagues and in partnership with families at CPCK to ensure appropriate opportunities are provided.
