Bachelor of Education

I am thrilled to become part of Collaroy Plateau Community Preschool as the Koalas Early Childhood Teacher. I have 2 children of my own who attend St Rose Primary School and live locally in Collaroy Plateau. I have been working in Early Childhood since 2000 and have always been passionate about children learning through play and having the opportunity to experiment, and be creative and inquisitive throughout their preschool day. I finished my Early Childhood degree at Macquarie University in 2004 and have worked in many different styles of Early Childhood settings. I was lucky enough 9 years ago to get a position working part time at another community preschool in Warriewood, where I still work 2 days per week. I went back to study my Masters in Special Education at Newcastle University which I completed in 2013. This extra degree truly helps me be inclusive to all children within the preschool setting.

I honestly believe the preschool model of Early Childhood provides the best opportunity for children before they attend formal schooling and I am so excited to be a part of the Koala class for 2017 and 2018.

Collaroy Plateau Community Kindergarten recognises the importance of acknowledging the history of the Indigenous Australians who belong to the Guringai language group who lived and are living in the Warringah area.

We acknowledge and respect the values and customs of the traditional owners of this land. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future for they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hope of Indigenous Australians. Aboriginal people have lived here for thousands of years, raising and teaching their children. We extend our hand in friendship as we walk together on this land.
